Holy Jihad Batman

When you think of a jihad the first thing you think about is Muslims. Guess what? They aren’t the only ones who wage a holy war, intentionally or otherwise. Jesus said in this world there would be wars and rumors of wars.

Obviously when we think of war we think about guns and ammunition. As much damage as these wars cause, the most lethal weapon is the mouth. Every time we put someone down, gossip, or talk bad about them we break the commandment that says “thou shalt not murder.” We are literally killing them internally.

This is all especially true in the area of religious doctrine. The Word says all we have to do is believe in Yeshua/Jesus but when we get so caught up in doctrine that we claim to be the one true church, we make salvation sound so complicated that even Jesus would start to doubt himself.

There is good news though. The true church doesn’t have walls. The walls we worship behind are merely just a building. The true church, or Kingdom of God, is being built up around the world every time a soul is won.

Also we can’t that just because someone never hears or responds to the gospel that they are necessarily consigned to hell. God has mercy on whomever He will. Maybe someone can still be offered salvation after death. Especially since death only affects the physical body and is just an illusion.

The Christ did not come to condemn; He came into the world only to save. So why do we condemn each other? As some anonymous person once put it, “can’t we all just get along?”

“Tell me why are we so blind to see that the ones we hurt are you and me.”- Rapper Coolio from “Gangstas Paradise” (1995).
