Make America great again was all I heard during Donald Trump’s campaign for President in 2016. And I thought it was a joke when he announced he was running. Maybe he meant it as a joke and too many people took him seriously.
That slogan could be taken so many ways. A return to slavery perhaps?
Or a return to a time when we weren’t so moneycentric and actually valued community and relationships. If those days ever existed.
Whatever the case, 1 Samuel in the bible reminds us that if we truly trust God we don’t need an earthly leader. So it doesn’t matter who is in office. Especially since they are all puppets. It’s the people that make a nation.
Check out the size of those hands. Every President has a nickname. Trump gets “babyhands”.
I think your perspective on “Make America Great Again” is amazing! Most people take it to mean that we’ll return to a surge in new jobs and companies, people getting a decent paycheck so you don’t have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, better health care provided by the major businesses, etc. I also believe that he entered the presidential race not so much as a joke, but as a boost to his businesses. It has been a boost, but, on taxpayers money. The picture of “Baby Hands” cracked me up! Love your blog!
I was thinking more of a return to smaller businesses but that would mean we would have to be self-employed. But there was more community. Bigger businesses offer more benefits but smaller benefits seem to have a better economy. More money means more debt and a higher cost of living and jobs is basically slavery anyway. Either work for yourself or live in an off the grid farming community.
